PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

YUNYAN THERMAL INSULATION MORTAR is a one-component cement mortar, consisting of expanded perlite and slag. It can be used for Interior and Exterior Insulating Finishing System (EIFS) whereby low thermal conductivity is required. Its material properties reduce both the quantity of heat storage and heat transfer, producing significant energy savings consumption.

Its structure contributes to its lightweight properties, providing excellent thermal insulation. Furthermore, it is non-toxic and environmental-friendly.

FEATURES AND CHARACTERISTICS

Low thermal conductivity that inhibits the heat transfer across the applied surface

Reduce roof and interior temperatures of buildings effectively

Lower and reduce air conditioning cost, both in terms of capital and operating expenses

Good tensile strength and mechanical strength

Provide good surface hardness for foot traffic without additional overlay of protection screed

Good sound insulation

APPLICATION

Suitable for various floor applications including roof slab, floor slab, walls and brick walls

Suitable for application on both new and old floors

Lightweight topping on structural slab that has limitation for additional loading

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All concrete substrate should be structurally sound and free of dirt, grease and clean all loose concrete or masonry. For best results, pre-wet application area beforehand.

It is recommended to prime all surfaces with a thin slurry coat consisting of two or three parts of

cement to one part (by volume) of Bonding Agent. Proportioning of both materials depends on surface configuration, environmental conditions and supplier recommendation

Priming only applies to concrete substrates. For any other overlays on roof slab please consult our technical department.

MIXING AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Use an electrical slow speed drum mixer for mixing purpose

Water by volume: 8.258.75 litres

Water powder ratio: 0.33 – 0.35

Half of the mixing water is added into the drum mixer. Add the powder proportionally and start mixing. The remaining water and powder is added under constant stirring and mixed until a homogeneous mix is achieved

Ensure all surfaces are primed before progressing with the application on the substrate. Wet mix should be laid within 45 to 60 minutes from time of mixing

Smooth trowel with a wooden or steel float

Recommended thickness should be at least 30-50 mm

CONSTRUCTION JOINT

In case of necessity of expansion joint, it is advisable the interval grid panel is within 3m X 5m with 8mm pointing gap.

COVERAGE

25kg bag covers approximately 1.1 – 1.2m²/30mm thickness for a flat concrete substrate.

CURING

Allow the cast surface to cure for the next 7 days.

PACKAGING

Standard packing in 25 kg bags.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

Store bags in a dry environment, off the ground on a pallet with shrink wrapping intact or covered with a waterproof canvas to prevent water ingress.

12 months from date of manufacture.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

For further enquiries, please contact our technical department.

SAFETY ADVICE

Please take notice of the safety information and advice given on the packaging labels and the safety information sheet.

DISPOSAL

In the interest of the environment, please empty all bags completely & in accordance with local regulations.
